A couple of swindlers come to town and fool a King. They pose as tailors and promise to make the most exquisite clothes in all the land. They announce that “Only clever people can see these clothes, but those who are stupid cannot”. In this kingdom, nobody wants to look stupid, least of all the King.

The King's New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen is a much loved story, with a timeless moral about human nature.

David Erskine's adaptation of this enduring folk tale is witty, humorous and enthralling. He developed this show in Europe with touring company Billabong Theater and performed to schools in Germany. Now back in Australia, David has re-interpreted this story especially for young audiences.

With puppetry, mask, music and interactivity, the audience is drawn into a world of the imagination where entertainment and learning happily coincide.
